No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

You know that old saying, right? Well, in my case it's true. After not having been in communication with Amanda for a while, I tried to do something nice for her, given I knew she was going through a tough patch. I considered whether or not to do it. Was it worth the risk? Well, I thought so. So I did.

Frankly, I didn't even expect a response. Well, I got a response. What did I get for my thoughtfulness?? Instead of just saying "thank you" and leaving it at that, what I got was a bitter exchange at the end of it was don't ever contact me again. Heh. No worries. I won't be going back for another helping, thank you very much.

I'll never feel bad about trying to do something nice for someone, even in the face of shitty circumstances like these. I will continue to try to do good things for others. No one else will have to pay the price for this less-than-stellar outcome.

I've been a little slack in ramping things down here, but am correcting that now. I've turned off all my blog following (sorry, it wasn't personal) and written my last words on this blog. I'm now officially out of here.
